My favourite party is the Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, with Loktantrik Jan Samta Party coming close second.
I don't know if my third favourite party is the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen or the Samajwadi Janata.
So many good parties to choose from!

Well this is near impossible to do, You'd need to probably combine a few parties.

Definitely consolidate the parties. There's a trade-off between 'realism' and playability. I don't care too much for realism and I wouldn't play a game with 16 parties, who knows how many regions. I love your idea though.
